Trump Sides With Long Island School to Keep Its ‘Chiefs’ Logo

President Donald Trump left no question Monday when he posted that he stands with the small town of Massapequa on Long Island to keep its ‘Chiefs’ logo in an ongoing court battle with the state.

Trump said, “I agree with the people in Massapequa, Long Island, who are fighting furiously to keep the Massapequa Chiefs logo on their Teams and School. Forcing them to change the name, after all of these years, is ridiculous and, in actuality, an affront to our great Indian population.”

Trump reposted a story from the New York Post, which outlines the school’s attempt to block a state administrative rule that bans the use of Native American names or imagery by public schools. Three districts opposed the rule, but a state judge ruled against the schools.
