With Republicans seeking to retain control of the House, Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced a record-breaking total of campaign funds raised in the third quarter.

Johnson raised $27.5 million during from July to September. His team said the amount was a record for a Republican speaker during that period of time in a presidential year, Punchbowl News reported.

“In less than one year as Speaker, I’m thankful that we have been able to build a team and set new fundraising records that will ensure House Republicans can keep and grow our majority,” Johnson posted on X with a link to a Washington Examiner story about the fundraising.
