Democrats in sanctuary cities are bracing for President-elect Donald Trump’s mass deportations of migrants once he’s sworn into office on Jan. 20.

Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, has said deportations of illegal migrants, especially those with criminal backgrounds, will begin on the first day of the second Trump administration.

Some officials in blue cities believe their municipalities will be targeted despite sanctuary policies limiting how much local governments cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
