Rep. Beth Van Duyne, R-Texas, told Newsmax on Wednesday that she “cannot support” the continuing resolution that congressional leaders released this week to fund the government through spring.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., on Tuesday announced a deal on a continuing resolution to keep the government funded just days before the deadline to avert a shutdown.
However, several Republicans spoke out against the measure or voiced displeasure with the process, including Van Duyne, who said, “I can’t,” when asked on “Wake Up America” if she will support the spending measure.
