House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., slammed President Joe Biden for awarding the Presidential Citizens Medal to a pair of Jan. 6 select committee members, telling Newsmax on Thursday it’s an “embarrassment on the world stage.”

Comer joined “Rob Schmitt Tonight” to discuss Biden bestowing the second highest civilian medal to former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., and Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the lawmakers who led the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol attack.

“It’s a joke. I mean, this is symbolic of the final two years of the Biden administration. It’s cover-up. It’s dishonesty. It is an embarrassment to the United States on the world stage,” Comer said. “This is par for the course with Joe Biden.”
