On Monday, The New York Times reported that “a new national coalition of health professionals and scientists,” some from “Yale and Harvard,” had signed a letter to senators urging them not to confirm Kennedy’s nomination.
However, among the 800 or so people who signed the letter written by the “Defend Public Health” coalition, a number of them included suspicious entries. Some of the names that signed the letter appeared to be duplicates, i.e., “Michelle Folsom” from Washington D.C., or “Melissa Ditmore;” one from “New York” and one from “New Year.”
Other signees simply included a first name or an initial — lending no way to verify their credentials — such as “O.V.” or “Maria” or “Aniqa” or “TN.”
