Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee told Newsmax on Thursday that the incoming administration of President Donald Trump will no longer have a “schizophrenic relationship” with Israel.
With a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel now in place and the first phase of hostages released, the world waits to see if peace can hold out in the Middle East. Huckabee, who is Trump’s nominee for U.S. ambassador to Israel, said the president wants to “work with all of the people of Israel,” not just Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“I think it’s an important moment for us to show that we’re not going to have the kind of schizophrenic relationship with our ally Israel as the Biden administration did,” Huckabee said on “Wake Up America.” “Where one day they’re saying, ‘We’re with you, no daylight between us,’ and then the next day they were putting more pressure on Israel than they were on Hamas. That has to change. The bad guys in this is Hamas. They’re terrorists, criminals, thugs, savages.”
