Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., returned home Wednesday following successful emergency hip replacement surgery in Luxembourg, the New York Post reported.
Pelosi, 84, suffered a fall Friday while walking down a flight of stairs during a trip to Europe with a congressional delegation. Pelosi was transported by the U.S. Military from Luxembourg to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany and was admitted to a hospital for evaluation, according to a defense official.
“Speaker Pelosi is grateful to U.S. military staff at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center at Landstuhl Army Base and medical staff at Hopital Kirchberg in Luxembourg for their excellent care and kindness,” spokesperson Ian Krager said in a statement released Saturday.
