President Donald Trump boldly suggested earlier in the week that neighboring Arab countries such as Jordan and Egypt take in Palestinian refugees while the Gaza Strip is rebuilt.

The idea was promptly rejected by both countries, with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas saying forced displacement would be a serious violation of international law.

David Friedman, the U.S. ambassador to Israel in Trump’s first term, told Newsmax on Wednesday that “Trump is calling out the hypocrisy of all these countries.“
