Three former senior DOJ officials violated the department’s Confidentiality and Media Contacts Policy by leaking nonpublic department investigative information to select reporters days before an election, the Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General said Monday.
The report did not name the three officials, nor did it provide additional information on what information was leaked. It was also unclear when the information was leaked.
It did state that two news articles were published with the nonpublic DOJ investigative information.
