Secretary of State Antony Blinken released a statement on Sunday commemorating the life of former President Jimmy Carter and his pursuit of peace.

Blinken’s statement was issued following the passing of Carter at the age of 100:

“Jimmy Carter was a United States President, a U.S. Navy veteran, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, and a humanitarian who dedicated his life to promoting peace, democracy, and human rights.
