Education Department Probes 60 Schools for Antisemitism

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is investigating 60 universities over allegations of antisemitism, warning that failure to comply with Title IX protections for Jewish students could have financial consequences, The Hill reported.

The department issued formal notices Monday, expressing concern that Jewish students continue to feel unsafe on campus.

“The Department is deeply disappointed that Jewish students studying on elite U.S. campuses continue to fear for their safety amid the relentless antisemitic eruptions that have severely disrupted campus life for more than a year. University leaders must do better,” Education Secretary Linda McMahon said in a statement.
