President Donald Trump will make sure American interests are protected in resolving the Ukraine-Russia war and that U.S. allies do the right thing, Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Ind., told Newsmax on Monday.

Spartz, who was born in Ukraine, told “American Agenda” that Trump “is a good negotiator … [and] a strong leader …  and that is why he was elected, because the American people were tired of bad leadership.”

Spartz’s comments came as Trump said there was progress in bringing the conflict to a peaceful end and for a deal for the U.S. to have rights to Ukraine’s critical minerals to help offset the money and equipment that the U.S. has given to Kyiv.
