GOP Voters Strongly Approve of Senate’s Work on Trump Picks

A canyon-size majority of Republican voters approve of the brisk pace set by the Senate GOP majority in approving President Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominations, according to a recent poll affiliated with the Senate Republican Conference.

The national survey of 995 voters conducted between Feb. 7-9 by GrayHouse, a firm connected to Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., chair of the Senate Republican Conference, showed that 87% of Republican voters approved, including 48% who strongly approved, of the job Senate Republicans are doing to confirm Trump’s nominees, Breitbart reported Tuesday. Only 9% disapproved.

As of Tuesday, which marked the 22nd day of Trump’s presidency, the Senate had confirmed 13 Cabinet nominees, with votes on two more – Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services – reportedly on tap for Wednesday.
