Former National Transportation Safety Board investigator Alan Diehl told Newsmax on Thursday that he has many questions about the midair collision between an Army helicopter and an American Airlines plane Wednesday in Washington, D.C., that killed 67 people.
“Everything is on the table right now,” Diehl said on “American Agenda” of the NTSB’s investigation. “They’ve got the audiotapes. They’ve got the radar tapes. They’ll be looking at that.”
Diehl said he is curious if the helicopter crew was wearing night vision goggles, which can affect field of view. Diehl said he expects the NTSB to investigate the role air traffic control played in the crash and whether the helicopter just didn’t see the American Airlines plane.
