U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement announced it arrested more than 500 people on Thursday.
ICE said it made 538 arrests and 373 detainers were lodged, according to a social media post. Detainers are requests made to law enforcement agencies to notify ICE before releasing someone from custody and to hold that person until ICE can take custody.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump’s first full day in office, ICE arrested 308 people, Sen. Katie Britt, R-Ala., posted on social media.
