Trump Meets With GOP Moderates on Tax Bill

President Donald Trump on Wednesday met with several moderate House Republicans to work out an agreement on a state and local tax deduction as part of a larger tax bill, Politico reports.

Trump met with Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y.; Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb.; and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., on Wednesday afternoon to discuss a proposed bill to extend the 2017 tax cuts championed by Trump and other tax measures.

Trump “likes meeting with everybody,” Bacon told reporters ahead of the gathering. “You can tell; he sleeps four hours a day, he’s like nonstop on the phone.”
