BASEBALL–ALL CITY SELECTIONS
Class 4A Division I state baseball champion Hayden swept individual honors in All-Centennial League voting, with Hayden senior Brogan Heinen being named the league's player and pitcher of the year while Wildcat coach Bill Arnold was named the league coach of the year.
Also earning all-league honors for Hayden, which posted a 24-1 record on the year, were seniors Noah Huston and Derrick McGreevy and junior Carson Engroff.
Shawnee Heights, which advanced to the 5A state tournament, also put four players on the all-league first team — seniors Mason Gifford and Jesse Kutzke, junior Jarod Cooper and sophomore Trey Brown.
Seaman, which finished second in 5A, is represented on the all-league team by Reid Fehr and junior Ryan Zeferjahn.
Washburn Rural and Junction City, a 6A state tournament participant, both put two players on the first team — seniors Jay Austin and Blake Peterson for Rural and junior Trae McDaniel and sophomore Tim Bell for Junction City.
Topeka High is represented by senior Alec Beatty on the all-league team while Highland Park is represented by senior Michael Houghton.

College Football
Game times and television coverage for Kansas State's nonconference football schedule was announced Monday by the Big 12, as well as Kansas’ first two games.
K-State kicks off the season Sept. 5 against South Dakota at 6:10 p.m. at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, with broadcast coverage only the internet on K-StateHD.TV. The Wildcats travel to Texas-San Antonio on Sept. 12 for an 11 a.m. game on Fox Sports 1, then host Louisiana Tech on Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. on FSN.
The Wildcats are home Thursday, Nov. 5 against Baylor at 6:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
The Jayhawks open Sept. 5 at home against South Dakota State at 11 a.m. on FSN, and Sept. 12 they host Memphis at 6 p.m. on Jayhawk TV. Kickoff time for KU’s game at Rutgers on Sept. 19 hasn't been announced.
